April 16, 1972, Aarhus University, Denmark – http://www.archive.org/details/gd72-04-16.sbd.miller.18103.sbeok.shnf - This is sometimes mislabeled as Truckin> Caution or even Truckin> Caution> UJB… I don’t know why. In any case, it is an awesome, must-hear Truckin’> Other One jam for sure.

August 12, 1972, Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, Sacramento, CA – http://www.archive.org/details/gd1972-08-12.sbd.smith.gems.105132.flac16 - First time they turned the dynamic duo around, Truckin’ comes after a tasty Other One> Black Peter> Other One sandwich. Truckin’ is 12 minutes long and the jam is fully charged up after a short but very cool Other One reprise/verse two.

March 26, 1973 - Balitmore Civic Center - http://www.archive.org/details/gd1973-03-26.sbd.miller.34787.sbeok.flac16 - An absolutely stellar Truckin’ jam that goes way out into space before settling into WRS prelude. Beautiful and classic sequence from an amazing month of shows.

June 9, 1973, RFK Stadium - http://www.archive.org/details/gd1973-06-09.sbd.patched.barry.93475.sbeok.shnf - Nice transition from Gone into Truckin’, followed by an INSANE Truckin’ jam that goes in unexpected directions and gets very hot, followed by a little Phil/Billy, a mellow jam, a Here Comes Sunshine tease, and finally PITB. First Truckin’> PITB (and one of only four ever).

May 19, 1974, Portland Memorial Coliseum, Portland, OR – http://www.archive.org/details/gd1974-05-19.sbd.fix.miller.107165.flac16 - Flat-out awesome Truckin/Nodody’s attack into a gorgeous MLB/NFA jam. One of the best parts of one of the year’s best shows.

May 25, 1974, Campus Stadium, UCSB, Santa Barbara, CA – http://www.archive.org/details/gd1974-05-25.sbd.jmiller.205.sbeok.shnf - The Dead tear Truckin’ apart like a band at the height of its powers and then rip into a brief but blistering Nobody’s jam that descends into a spicy little groove before entering pretty deep space.

If you were a lawyer you'd be one of those guys who sends over 75 file cartons of paperwork for an evidence request, wouldn't you?

No need for 75 boxes.. These five selections will do just fine. Blow the jury's minds with psychadelic power blues, that's my approoach.

"These five selections will do just fine."

Well, I definitely agree with the Santa Barbara show, but that's only because I started at the bottom. Will touchback when I've reached the top.

P.s. FWIW, I've always enjoyed the Europe '72 Truckin'>Prelude>???>Morning Dew. This Truckin' was probably the first s t r e t c h e d o u t tune of theirs that I had heard. (And this amDew is the one that put me on to the Dew.)
